The past six months or so, I’ve listened to Gogol Bordello’s Tribal Connection hundreds of times. I actually wrote two entire home-exams for my music history course while having it on repeat. I’m especially fond of the accordion. If the lyrics were a bit better, it would probably be one of my favorite songs ever. I really connect with its sound, its rhythms and melodies. I saw a documentary about these self-proclaimed gypsy punks at Gothenburg’s film festival in January, and they were even more crazy, wild and passionate than one could imagine and hope for.
